PSYCHOTHERAPY
Having been a psychotherapist for nearly 40 years, I have worked with people of all ages, from elementary school age through elderhood. I have worked with families, couples, and with children and teens who were not with their families because of abuse and neglect. I have worked in agencies that offered short-term therapy, and I have been in private practice which offered me more flexibility based on my clients' needs.
I returned to graduate school late in life and earned my doctorate in clinical psychology. This opened up the world of psychological assessment, which I practiced for nearly 10 years. Being an assessment psychologist allowed me to understand even further the ways that people's strengths and challenges are expressed in everyday life.
I currently enjoy psychotherapy with adults of all ages. I appreciate the depth perspective of psycho-dynamic and Jungian therapy, I especially enjoy employing a developmental lens to understand the barriers that get in the way of living more fully. I have expertise in mood and anxiety disorders, significant life transitions, grief and loss, spiritual issues that impact daily living, and the psychological impact of medical issues. .
